Unfortunately, people who need specialized equipment to continue to play their way have great difficulty accessing this expensive adaptive gear. Fortunately, RAD Society has the ability to make this adaptive gear accessible and affordable. Sadly, there are hundreds of thousands of people in Canada that do not have access to the outdoors or the specialized gear they need to get there. Luckily, 100% of your registration fee + donation in this years' 5th annual RAD Polar Plunge Gone Virtual is going to help get one more person access to adaptive recreation -- the RAD Gear Box, a 'shop' full of fun outdoor adaptive devices that humans can rent and loan for short-term fun or to try it before they buy it. (One more person is an understatement!)

By providing this access we can help people who feel they have been left behind, who feel excluded by the current lack of support for healthy living (mentally and physically). With outdoor access and recreation individuals' sense of well-being improves, their physical fitness improves, and overall better health with an increased willingness to participate in their community surrounding them.
